Materials Needed
-
Clear plastic bottle (like VOSS)
-
Baby oil
-
Blue & silver sequins
-
Blue glitter (fine, medium, extra fine)
-
Rubbing alcohol or warm soapy water (to clean the label)
How to Make It (Simple Steps)
Step 1: Prepare the Bottle
-
Wash and dry your bottle.
-
Remove the label and wipe off any sticky glue using rubbing alcohol or warm soapy water.
Step 2: Add the Liquid
-
Fill the bottle almost to the top with baby oil.
(Baby oil makes everything fall slowly and look like a real snowstorm.)
Step 3: Add the Winter Magic
-
Add 1 tablespoon of blue and silver sequins.
-
Add ½–1 teaspoon of fine blue glitter.
-
Add 1 teaspoon of chunkier blue glitter.
-
Add a little more fine glitter for extra sparkle.
You can add more or less depending on how much shimmer you want.
Step 4: Close & Mix
-
Fill the bottle to the very top with baby oil.
-
Tighten the lid securely.
(For safety with young kids, add a little hot glue around the inside of the lid before closing.) -
Shake gently to mix everything.
Your Winter Sensory Bottle Is Ready!
Kids can shake it to watch the glitter swirl slowly, just like falling snow and icy winter storms.
It’s perfect for:
-
Calm-down corners
-
Sensory play
-
Classroom activities
-
Winter-themed learning
Extra Tips
-
If you use colored sequins, the color may fade into the oil over time.
-
You can also try clear beads, small snowflakes, mini pom poms, or tiny winter figurines.
-
For a different effect, use water + glycerin, clear glue, or dish soap instead of baby oil.
